4/29 - General Yap - Codes, thoughts on gal journey, the fomo of missing out on an iso, etc

 We made it to another Tuesday... how exciting. I feel like it's good to do a general blog of things that have happened and been on my mind these past few days... weeks? Time is confusing. I can't believe it's almost May. What in the world

I guess I'll start with some of the recent co*des I've done, not as much detail on these bad boys but I'll give my thoughts fr.

First... Usagi Kigu for Easter celebrations. I wanted to try a like... bleach blonde manba/yamanda inspired look at some point with this kigu, and I finally said... why not. Major props to gals who can get the white to look good and like the concealer lips. It's not really for me imo... but it's super fun. I've also been trying to get used to wearing circle lenses so I popped on my pink ones as it added to the "wahoooo" effect.

Then ya girl went a lil crazy and ordered a brown wig. I've done brown before I started getting into tanning, and it was... OK. I think with a tan this color looks really nice. I've been trying to not wear my prisilas a lot as I've gained a bald spot... I might also just need to do that paper towel under the hairline trick and look into getting some hair growth stuff soon. I think May is going to be a "Brenna takes care of herself" month. I did consider buying some Prisilas but I also have to STOP buying things. AH!!!!!!! I own so much!!!!!

Thursday I had to pull out the Usagi code for Bouldering. I also realized maybe I need some more... natural colored circle lenses. Don't get me wrong, the pink is fun but it can be pretty jarring!! I got some great reccs from nokaliii so I ordered some loveil dailies :) Hopefully they come in soon! I got some blue ones and some brown ones and we'll see how they look. 

And then in general... I won't go into super detail but life has not been the best. Lots of life events happening at once but as I'm writing this blog... there's a change maybe like one of them is going to resolve itself today (cross ur fingers pls...). I've been fighting myself to get out and do things, but I think I might take May to still go out but also work on taking care of myself a bit more. I'll still be doing gal codes obvs, but I think holding off from shopping would be important. I'm doing a dry May + no chiikawa merch streak challenge. Where I just try to not buy chiikawa merch for as long as I can. If I can make it to the con I'm going to by the end of May... that'll be a big win.

Speaking of shopping, I missed out on one of my isos like twice in the past week and I like... wanted to beat myself up, but in reality, I can't lose it over the fact I just missed out on a clothing piece when I have... not only just so much clothing in general but I have some pretty cool pieces myself. Like this one. Literally I didn't even know this existed until I saw a listing and I had to get it, and it's super good. I honestly need to wear it more. I really need to wear like... a lot of my Agejo closet more. 

I think for all.. that's kind of it. Just hanging in there lmao. I am watchin my lil pup today until my parents get back, and then heading back to potentially going bouldering today... maybe more likely friday lol

4/23 - April Gets pt 2!

Hiii Chat!! I mentioned there'd be a part 2 to the April gets, and christmas came a day early!! After a wild Monday a Tuesday full of cool finds is such a win!!!

I'll start with the miniso finds from this past weekend, which I'll blog about separately bc lol... wild stuff and good stuff happened.

First! Some new office stuff!! I got a cute lil pen and book to help keep the Usagi theme when it comes to taking notes. I am trying to use my Usagi book to note my daily work tasks, a lot of which I've wrapped up already today!! Wahoo!! (I started at 7am today.)

Then, not pictured is a hachiware head plush, but I got REALLY lucky up in Holyoke Mass and found the hachiware and chiikawa backpacks, and keychains I missed out on!! I think the only ones i'm missing at the pajama party hachiware and chiikawa... I will find them one day.

And now... onto the christmas gift of today!! I have one non chiikawa thing, but I'm still going to wear the chiikawa things in more... "gal codes" as folks would say. I am very much getting into tracksuits again and being able to do themed co*des is so fun!! I also have been on a personal journey of like... modifying my casual non agejo closet to something I'm more happy with. Will probably write a more intense life update blog.

First, I'll start with a really cool find!! A crazy tribe setup with TWO skirts!!!

I was not rlly paying attention to the listing and I was like oh. There are two skirts. I will say the gold trim on the sides are fraying off, and it was like well... it was like 30 bucks and like... besides that it's still pretty good quality! Also having two skirts is nice to switch it up. I actually saw this listing in a soul sister scan and was like wow. I want that.

Now.... to chiikawa verse. Lots of clothes and plushies!!

First, some magical girl plushies!!! They were soooooo cute!!! I was so happy these weren't too expensive. I've noted at times some plushies are just... cheaper in Japan? I wonder if it's just because they're secondhand or something. I got some big ones and some cute keychains!! I am definitely planning on growing a Chiikawa shrine in my office over the 2025 year (well... ill try with lots of expenses hehe)

I also got some of these cute usagi plushies!! They're on safety pins which means I can probably pin em on my outfits soon!!!! It was a set of 6 for not too much!! I was like... wahooo these are so cute!!

I got some cute Usagi jewelry too and a tshirt!! I unitedly started my cart by finding just Usagi items, but as I kept watching Chiikawa I was like oh no… I must get stuff for all three of the main friends bc I love them so much!!!!

I think I will def be wearing these a lot!!!

Next is one of my two Usagi jackets!! This one is a short sleeve variant from Avail. It’s a little big on me but it’s sooo cute. I never thought I’d wear yellow… but for Usagi I will.

And last but not least!!! My honeys sets!! I only took pics of the jackets but I got the matching pants too. I am so happy to have more matching sets in my life!! Matching sets make life so much easier for me. They’re suuuper comfy.

4/18 - April Gets!

Hi everyone!! I realized I have missed so many things to blog.... I think tonight I might draft up a few posts, including my gosh... forgot to talk about zenkaikon and that was almost a whole month ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

I was also not feeling very good last night. I had to take off work today and get rest and didn't really get up and around until 10AM... I usually can't sleep in past 7 am, but if I am sick my body allows me to sleep in. Luckily once I finally got some much needed rest I was back to normal in the afternoon. 

For today's post, I want to show some of the gets I got this month. Some gal, some related to my other interests... my shopping addiction continues. I also have another shipment coming next week, but with tariffs and also just... life right now... I am going to hold off on making any more mercari jp purchases unless my dream dream dream isos show up at a reasonable price (which... I doubt lmao!!)

Starting with the fashion!!!

 

First, I was inspired by the idea of twinning with Lynzee and I was like ooo I should find the same dress she has from ma*rs... and then I saw it in the white colorway, its so pretty! And I also got my first primelo dress which was suuuuper exciting! It's super cute, but interestingly the way the design is printed on the fabric is different from ma*rs... I'm not into textiles so I don't know the best way to explain it. You know how like most places print the design on white fabric and you can't see it on the other side? It's like that. Does this mean I might've been duped...? I'm unsure, but either way, its super cute.

AAAND!!! I bought a piece from Cindy as she reached out and asked if I was interested!!! I really like this print, and the cut of this dress is cute too! I definitely will pair this with a cardigan (I'd like to one day find the matching cardigan for this set!!!) Bless up Cindy such a sweetheart and wrote such a nice note!! I am definitely going to work on coordinating this for upcoming Wednesday Karaoke!!!

And ofc... on the less agejo and more casual side... it's very usagi core. 

I will definitely post the second half once it comes, but I have some chiikawa tracksuits coming!!!!! I am slowly turning into an... ot3? fan... I mean I love them all but I definitely collect the main 3, but Usagi is my huge favorite. I use the purse regularly with some keychains on it, and I sometimes wear the backpack in combo (it doesn't fit much tho lol). I also went a bit crazy one night and wore the spa headband over a hat!! I actually wore this to a new fave cocktail bar of mine on a Saturday and everyone was dressed up in like... going out outfits... and I was in a tracksuit... lmao...

AND NOW!!!! Onto the PLUSHIES!!!!!! I love plushies. They bring me so much joy. I am planning on eventually creating a Chiikawa shrine in my office or my bedroom (I still have to get the TakiSabi shrine up somewhere too, one will go in one spot and one will go in the other).

For now, they all live on my bed and hold on for dear life when I roll around in the middle of the night! Here is (almost) the full collection! One actually fell under the bed and I didn't realize until later LMAOO

I have... been going a bit insane going to various miniso locations to find these. The most recent gets where the two big ones!! I was at the providence location and the manager told me that braintree might've had them. So... I go to braintree and they tell me they're out! So I decided to go crazy and drive an extra hour to burlington and lo and behold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big friends. These were expensive, I came in expecting them to be though. How does adding a pochette add 50 dollars to price? I did note my Hachiware is 10cm bigger than my usagi according to tag... so many different sizes... 

BUT!!! IT IS SO HARD TO FIND CHIIKAWA!!!!! The lil creature is so popular up in new england!! I do have some other plushies coming so I will have more Chiikawa soon.

I put Usagi in the passenger seat lol... I want to get a big chiikawa and just have a day I drive them all somewhere and have them hangout in my backseat... but I'll have to clean my car.

And then!! This was kind of a wild purchase, I went crazy on Rika plushies. Miss Rika Pokemon... my wife, my girlfriend... my wife FR!! At zenkaikon there was no Rika and I was so sad so I went on Mercari JP and bought 14. 13 came in this shipment, and the last one is coming next week! I plan on fixing up my Rika wig for Anime Boston and putting together a Rika itabag. Looking back at it... did I need to order 14? PRobably not. I rarely try to buy mutliples of the same thing anymore since the Heavens Rave / Takisabi Days. 

I also still gotta play the dlc... so many video games I need to play....

But yeah!!!!!!!! That's the haul for April minus the gets of next week. I am going to try to like... stop looking at Mercari JP and also STOP GOING TO MINISO!!!!!!!! This week and next week has been the pause of bingo... so maybe if I bring back bingo in May I will have to pause on the shopping...

But... life has been really good. I have recently been stopping on my walks to places and realizing how good life is. It's funny to think about.

OH. I got an ipod nano too. I will probably make a separate blog eventually about my journey to de-smartphone. The ipod nano might need a new battery even though I was told it was a new battery.
