10/25 - The Haul(tm) of October

We start this blog looking back at a goal I wrote on my first ever blog post here:

And we LAUGH AS THIS IS A HAUL POST LMAOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stop shopping. I cannot. I feel like I've done a lot more like... single item purchases vs hauls but it's still a lot. Like yesterday I was putting laundry away and realized I am out of hangers and need more storage for my gal pieces. In general I've been wearing a good chunk of my gal tracksuits and gal office pieces, but I always feel like I need something more. It does not help I don't doomscroll on tiktok, I doomscroll on mercari JP... LOL.

So this consists of a few hauls, so I'll talk through my thoughts on each purchase. This is not in the order I got them in the mail, but I believe these all came in from Late Sept to October.

Also for US readers who are interested in additional tariff/duty fee costs, I'll post my numbers.
For context; I use Japanrabbit as my JP proxy and DeliveredKorea as my korean proxy. I also ship with DHL for both so all of my customs fees tend to come with a 14 dollar fee (unless its one of the two orders from korea, I prepay customs so I don't believe it includes the 14 dollars but I could be wrong?)
I personally prefer DHL as they make me pay the customs before I get the item. I know a lot of people have been having issues with DHL but I think a chunk of the issue is the sender not filling in information correctly.

10/25 - The various codes I remembered to document in October

Hello Blog number 3 of 10/25. We are still on a roll. I know I usually post these on my instagram but figured I could let my laptop self yap on here about them a bit more. I've got three here to talk about. October is the start of a very busy time so I just... don't have a whole lot of time to wear my more intense codes LOL.

In no particular order! (JK order of when they happened):

First off, this divalicious code...

Sadly I don't really have a lot of good photos in this because I have not figured out good indoor lighting in my apartment and just... forgot to take a full body shot. I got my babymetalclub dresses in the mail at the start of he month and I was like... I AM WEARING THESE OUT. I also got a wig in this like... flaxy with a bit of a pinky tone color because I was trying to figure out if I wanted to dye my hair darker than blonde. I also got my pinkyparadise lenses finally so I was like... wearing these out. These are actually brown, which is very interesting to see what I look like with darker eyes. I feel like sometimes they give a bit less gyaru look but I think they're cute hehe....

Styling this was interesting because it felt like it didn't need much? I had originally had a big headband with a white bow but it felt off. I always feel like a need a headpiece since I normally do prisilas and the headpieces help cover where I'm attaching it all, but this is a full wig and not a half wig. I also wore a necklace that had a similar blingy vibe to the brooch. I got it from LJ, who does my hair. She has given me so many fun jewelry pieces I want to incorporate! I also wore my white heels, which got some weird scuffs and I literally just repainted the shoes since I had thrifted them, but maybe I should've just done acetone... LOL! I also wore my thrifted coat because it was a basic white fur coat and it worked so well! It's actually a nice coat for my agejo pieces... I can't really wear my albas as it's just a clash of colors... aesthetics... doesn't work in my mind! I'd love to find a black coat like this one day.

Full wigs are weird to me in general as they normally read more costumey, it's like typically the top of the wig is less poofy than the bototm. I know some people thin out their wigs but I am lazy... LOL. I did like the color of this hair a LOT... especially with the tan. I remember Cindy messaged me about it loving it too! She also liked how the hair ... what was the word... went around my face... whatever word that is (did not go to school for english.)

I went out to drinks with my friend Caty and I think I look the left photo on her phone and she sent it to me.

Overall, very cute. The only thing is this dress really does ride up. I had to keep pulling it down everytime I stood up and I'm petite!!

10/25 - When not in gal... it's Dale Time. (What do I do outside of the normal slayage?) (This is a trip blog)

WHOA HOLY SHIT!!! THIS IS NOT ABOUT GAL SO IF YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT GAL you can read it anyways LOL!!!!! I think it's fun to document this because I think a lot of my close gal friends know but if you don't, I really like a pitbull or an oppenheimer look once in awhile. I consider myself a cis female and I very much love my feminine side, but there's a lot of joy in putting on a bald cap or a nice wide brim hat and some makeup. I think if anything it's the feeling of just being a silly little guy (I don't have the deal with the societal pressures of men hitting on me for a bit. Except one time I was kagamine len and a random bro did. that was wild !) Also I have like a joy in both pitbull and oppenheimer, I was 10 feet away from pitbull once in my life. Wild stuff.

Aaanyways, a few weeks back two events happened! One, my friends MJ and Ryan came up and asked me to come to a renn faire with them and a lot of other friends!! And two, my friends Gabby and Olivia added me to a group chat to organize a trip to Mohegan Sun for their spookeasy!! And I was like oh shit what do I wear.

For context, I'm not like super duper into renn faire culture, so I wasn't sure what to wear. I had joked in the past with some friends I'd just dress up as Pitbull as I have done so to events in the past (halloween, anime cons, I even did it for a client meeting upon their request), I also am inspired by @yaldamn on instagram who does Pope pitbull and various versions of other people (guy fieri, that guy from breaking bad), so I wanted to do a fun twist on Pitbull myself.Sso I ordered a renn-faireish outfit to become Sire Worldwide... Sire 305... I will definitely be keeping this outfit and bringing this version of Pitbull back for sure.

For the Spookeasy, the vibe was vampireish, and I didn't want to take off my baldcap, so I had brought my pitbull suit and found a cape at Savers (after like... 4 different locations). Originally we weren't going to go back and I forgot my change of clothes so I was going to be Sire worldwide... but that part shows up later in the blog I'm getting ahead of myself here.

I don't feel like uploaded the one photo of me and the cursed lafufu but the night before I met with with my friend Alexa who was also going to both events, we went out for hot pot for the first time (I need to get better at seasoning things) and I bought one of the cursed lafufu where you can remove the fur. My ultimate ISO lafufu. Great. Then I drank a whole bottle of Soju and we went back to Alexa's place to sleep to prep for the fun day!

I actually have really been enjoying eyesight but didn't want to wear my glasses, so I used the last of my loveil lenses for prescription and... it's very funny wearing circle lenses for my lil guy cosplays, it's very funny. I look a little scary. Also having a beard really makes me look like I have a much more smaller jaw... contouring I suppose. I also had pulled out my Sabina Shima glasses as I had just... not remembered my pitbull aviators, but they still git the vibe very well.

We got to the rennfaire and hadn't walked for long and I met my TWIN!!!! I was like TWIN!!! OH MY GOD!!!! And he was like "we should get a picture!" and I was like ABSOLUTELY!!!

He was so fun, he also was doing a fun little marketing campaign for this like... in person dungeons and dragons larp event? I honestly might look into this for 2026 and take EJ and some friends with me (I literally just got up from blogging to tell this to EJ before I forgot). It was just so funny to find a twin in this!

We did a LOT of walking, a lot of talking, and not a lot of picture taking LOL. I learned a lot of people talk in character and it's very... LARP? I'm horrible at roleplay but I was trying to fit more of the "Sire Worldwide" vibe. A good amount of people asked "Are you Pitbull?" and I was like "Sire Worldwide... Sire 305... at Thine Service" and people LOVED IT! It was fun! There were also people dressed up as various anime and video game characters too, I talked to Ryuji for a bit and it was very fun!

The only others pictures we got were with these rats!! Lots of various rat fixtures at this Renn Faire. I also took a picture of my friend Ryan with rats!

It did start raining throughout the day, and it was cold but we had brought umbrellas, but we all had decided to leave early because it was starting to be a bit miserable LOL. But overall, the experience was really fun. I got to meet up with a lot of people I only see once in awhile (like usually when MJ and Ryan held get togehters) and they're all very fun! We talked about how it was good to see each other again! I know I'll be seeing some of them again soon!

Initally I forgot my change of clothes but since we left early and the next event wasn't for a few hours, so we went back, I changed (and the fact I put the bald cap on only partially was more apparent). Then we went to pick up MJ who decided to join us, and we went to Mohegan!!!

I forgot to take pictures at the spookeasy... I know they exist somewhere... someone else took pictures... but overall it was nice! Was a definitely one time experience per year. I got a few of the apple cider drinks and the gambling voices were getting louder, so please enjoy this montage of me looking for a Huff n' Puff machine to play slots on.
It is also at this point I do not want to influence any of you to play the slots.

LMAO @ Gabby doing this pose while I'm putting money in the machine.

I lost 160 dollars. Don't play the slots unless you're aware you're throwing your money away. Though positive twist Mohegan is unionized and we are supporting the Mohegan tribe.... so I didn't actually feel bad. My friend Eli told me later maybe I should've done Huff n' More Puff... he was so right.... There's so many variants but some are better than the others.... I was just drunk and ran for the first one LOL!!!

Overall: Very good. I got to see Gabby and Olivia and hang out more with MJ and Alexa. We all looked very cool (4 vampires and 1 druid) and people thought we were super cool!! :D

Will I got to Mohegan Sun again? Probably. May be going in November. I actually normally go to Foxwoods once in a blue moon for bingo with is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, also unionized...

Ok... the gal-less blog is over for now hehe... but expect more Dale adventures in the future....

10/13 + 10/25 - The Agejo Rabbithole - Iroppo Gal

Welcome to the Yap Session. The start of what I hope to continue blogging called the "what the hell is Agejo gyaru anyways" where I end up probably rehashing a lot of points, giving my thoughts on how we gaijin gals use the internet for research... a lot. So we're calling it the Agejo Rabbit hole.

Disclaimer: You don't have to follow a substyle... call yourself what you want... I will not kill you. This is just me typing out my findings with my deep dives into the content. I'll do my best to link sources as I can. Also I'm happy for insight and I'm happy to be wrong. I'm coming into gyaru during the reiwa era, I was too busy playing pokemon in 2006 to keep up with the hostesses of Japan to understand how the trend evolved!

Now... this has been something in my head for awhile, but hey... what in the world caused me to want to actually document it?

Popteen. Posting about gyaru, which makes sense, but was calling out gyaru style. And Popteen posted this.

Source: Popteen's Instagram

I may not have the best knowledge of the Japanese language, but I saw it and was like "well that doesn't say Agejo". So then I had to go ahead and translate it as I am not even at an N5 LOL.

For folks who have issues reading it says:
A revealing black and pink outfit is a surefire hit!
The sweet al has evolved into a sexy, mature woman.
Barbie doll-like fasion is here.
MARS was a representative brand!
The number of stoic gals who adjust themselves to fit their clothing is on the rise! (Brenna note: oh god I don't like that.....)

Now here's the thing. I haven't been able to fully deep dive into other Japanese resources, but I don't know if this term has been used for a substyle... if anything, usually the style depicted is what I like to call "surface level agejo".

Now as an American familiar with Barbie, I definitely think adding the "Barbie doll like" definitely explains the usage of pink. Barbie is commonly associated with Pink, it makes sense. A lot of people also in general just, link Agejo to pink even though it isn't.

I initially thought that this "Iroppo Gal" might be more restrictive than "Agejo gal." but Iroppo is just sexy... and it can be more than just ma*rs to dress like that... if you get what I mean. Lots of confusion here. It's the same problem with Agejo... it's interesting.

10/25: So funfact I usually only am writing blogs when I am at my friend's parents house as this place is super calming and I feel like I can like get my thoughts out semi-better. So here's a continuation of this.

So continuing, I think another reason it's called "Iroppo" as "Agejo" comes from Koakuma Ageha, and as far as I am aware, this style has really grown out of the Koakuma Ageha styles. Of course I'm not following as many of the models these days, and I'm not super into the modern day kyabajo scene as I used to. In my review of a more recent release of the magazine, "Reiwa Agejo" has I call it has really toned down, from Kyabajo work looks to casual wear, it's REALLY tame. I mean it's even more about the expensive name brand items (I feel like I could just post a screenshot of brilliant nothing on reddit commenting the same image over and over LMAO! Shoutout to that guy. He gets me thinking a lot.)

So I guess really... not much of a change except it's weird to call it Agejo as this really isn't in Koakuma Ageha... NOW... IS IT IN ANE AGEHA... Now this is a question I need to purchase a magazine to find out as I think this style is slowly coming back, I think Usatani is really bringing these types of styles back with gals with her brand gyarumy, but I also think her brand is an extension of what she wants to wear too, if that makes sense. I own a tracksuit and it's pretty nice!

So what's my overall thoughts. I think Iroppo might be more representative of a small part of Agejo, but they can't call it Agejo because it's not in Koakuma Ageha.

9/28 + 10/11 - Experimenting with my personal style

10/11 Brenna - Another blog I drafted via posting pictures... and the topic was personal style. I must've had a thought when I made this, but I guess I'll just use this pictures and talk about current me. (I then scroll down past the pictures and see I wrote a few paragraphs lol). Any 10/11 comments i'll bold bc why not. I'm also just gonna keep the spam images at the bottom LMFAO...

9/28 Brenna -  I figured I haven’t really posted codes recently here in detail, so I thought I’d give a more detailed version of my style journey that’s been happening these past few months.

Now don’t get me wrong, I still LOVE the OTT looks I do, but as I currently WFH and most of my stuff isn’t even appropriate for work, I’m trying to work on the more casual side of my wardrobe. I do LOVE the tracksuits I have, but I’m also trying to get more into cutesy work outfits that I feel comfy in. The main reason is to justify getting up and getting ready to feel confident in myself. I won’t go into my life story, but the goal of the second half of 2025 and into 2026 is to work on taking care of myself. I’ve been dealing with a health mystery and in that I realized if I want to be a certain way in life I have to work on it.

I’ve also just not been in the mood for the Prisila wig balding LMAOOO. I definitely will be pulling those out again soon though. I actually got inspired by Chrissi for straight prisilas... those should be coming next week... hehe.)

So there’s been like two types of vibes I’ve been doing, one of a more experimental dramatic look inspired by a few gals (maruka and bluesalami were all over my feed and I was like man that type of vibe is fun even though I feel like I didn’t capture it LMAO) vs a softer look inspired by Ageha mags.

For the more experimental look, it’s easier to wear with tracksuits, but also just I was like. Man I don’t have a lot of dramatic esque clothing LMAO. I think in general I want to keep my leaning towards the more feminine ageha styles, but I do tend to wear my chiikawa tracksuits out or just sports wear especially when I boulder, so these are fun!

I think also lenses are a big play here, after the removal of deminimis it was a weird time... couldn't order from pushcolor. Then I made an order on pinky and they i could order on pushcolor again.... ARG. But with different lenses you can do different looks, but also figuring out a lens that work. I got the gal never die lenses with no limbal ring, and they're fun... but would fit better if I want to do a scary oppenheimer look. I much prefer a black limbal ring.

Hair color is also another thing... I love LiYe... I love TMGX... but I also love the bleach blonde look, and my hair is getting long enough to style. (I've also had my roots redone and have a hair stylist again....) I also do like playing with wigs but... there's something about em that throws me off at times. Will think on this more.

And also... with just wearing clothes. Wanting to wear more casual codes/develop my personal style more. I finally gave in and got some lipservice dresses I've been eyeing the style for awhile... very exciting. And I also now own enough boots for the next two decades. Lets GO!!!!

Overall... continuing the slayage... will remember to blog more soon.

10/11 - Cafuné in Boston!

OH GOD. I forgot I drafted this blog AWHILE ago (aka put in all the pictures for me to re-arrange and write out thoughts).

This was back in September LOL! I went to Boston/Brookline to go see Cafuné in Boston awhile back! This is a band that I've really started liking since coming across Tek It in 2024. I also really vibed with Want Me Out, and I realized one day they were selling tickets for 34 dollars. ARE YOU KIDDING? I ran to buy them. I didn't even take a friend with me.

I ended up getting a last min hotel in Boston because it was on a Monday... and I was not driving back super late LOL. So I got to my hotel and then started putting on my makeup and ran into 2 fun issues.

1) so one of my loveil lenses got printed on backwards and it was SO weird. 2 of the lenses did, but with how I took the lenses out I had the issue with one a few weeks back and asked in a discord if anyone knew, and shout out to Miki who mentioned it might be inside out. So I looked like I had a lens in wrong... but it was fine

2) I forgot eyelash glue. This is the second time this year I've gone to an event and forgot it. Dashcon 2 I just went without bc... who gaf... but in a cute gal look i needed the lashes.  But the look was cute! I was super lazy w hair and did a wild move of a delyle noir top with my tracksuit set. I also wore my platform boots as I wasn't familiar with the venue and I knew it was standing only, so I wanted to be able to see.

Started my walk and made it to Maruichi!!! That had eyelash glue!!! This Maruichi is bigger than the one in Providence, and they had much more of a selection. I picked up eyelash glue, a peach jelly, and eyelash glue. Lashes... now on.

I also got a skitty keychain at maruichi, and then went to a few stores on my walk to the center, and then OMG... A REIWATAKIYA... I know of the one on Newbury St, and they had chiikawa goods!!!!! The bad news is I didn't bring a back bc... music venue. I was shoving shit in my usagi purse and adding keychains LOL.

No pictures but I did get in lines for doors early, and ended up speaking to a wonderful diva whose name I forget... we didn't exchange contact information or anything. She was moving back to California in a few weeks and decided to go see a show at the music hall. Diva if you find this blog... please reach out on instagram you were SO NICE!!!!!

And thne we went in, got a drink, got a spot, and I got merch (and a tote to put everything in!) and AHHH... then show time. I didn't take a lot of pictures, only a few videos at the end of some songs I enjoyed. But first, lets talk the opener.

Crushed. AMAZING. Such a vibe. I actually ended up buying the digital album on release (called no scope !!!) and its SO good. I listen to almost anything, it was so fun. After listening to the album, my top songs are exo, cwtch, and oneshot.

AND AHHH CAFUNE CAME ON.... there was a girl who moved up between sets (I had noticed as I was saving the spot for a diva who... never came back). And I was like hella chill w her bc she was IN IT. She loves Cafune and was so into it, I told her I loved her energy and she was so sweet. She also had that one guy from yuyu hakusho on her phone (I think? black hair green top?) diva if ur reading this... hope u get everything u want.

ALSO THE DIVAS WHO JOINED IN ON THE SPACE HOLDING... AND THE DIVA WHO WE SPOKE TO ABOUT FAVORITE SONGS....

The whole set was great (aside from a couple pushing up for a few songs and just talking to each other. jesus. but it was only a few songs so)

AND THEY PLAYED TEK IT... AND THEY PLAYED WANT ME OUT!!!!!!!! I knew they'd play tek it, but I was so happy about want me out, I love want me out. i love it. so much.

I thought I'd cry more, I only cried during Soft Spot and at the end of Tek It, as hearing the lines that meant a lot to me in my personal line live meant to much. I filmed it. God. It was beautiful.

After the show, I went home. I couldn't stay longer as I had to get up at 6 am and go drive home as I scheduled an 8 am meeting on Tuesday and couldn't reschedule it that week (d'oh! but i love my clients so its ok) and yeah... good times for real. Overall, I felt like a chapter of my life truly closed. I cannot believe this was only 34 dollars (minus all of the other expenses of me buying stuff but that doesnt count LOL!)

Ok, I have another blog to go before I leave. Can I crank a blog out in 20 minutes. lets go see LOL
