10/25 - The Haul(tm) of October

We start this blog looking back at a goal I wrote on my first ever blog post here:

And we LAUGH AS THIS IS A HAUL POST LMAOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stop shopping. I cannot. I feel like I've done a lot more like... single item purchases vs hauls but it's still a lot. Like yesterday I was putting laundry away and realized I am out of hangers and need more storage for my gal pieces. In general I've been wearing a good chunk of my gal tracksuits and gal office pieces, but I always feel like I need something more. It does not help I don't doomscroll on tiktok, I doomscroll on mercari JP... LOL.

So this consists of a few hauls, so I'll talk through my thoughts on each purchase. This is not in the order I got them in the mail, but I believe these all came in from Late Sept to October. 

Also for US readers who are interested in additional tariff/duty fee costs, I'll post my numbers. 

For context; I use Japanrabbit as my JP proxy and DeliveredKorea as my korean proxy. I also ship with DHL for both so all of my customs fees tend to come with a 14 dollar fee (unless its one of the two orders from korea, I prepay customs so I don't believe it includes the 14 dollars but I could be wrong?)

I personally prefer DHL as they make me pay the customs before I get the item. I know a lot of people have been having issues with DHL but I think a chunk of the issue is the sender not filling in information correctly. 

3/10 - The GGxGalz Set

Hiii chat! I've decided i'm calling you all chat now... even though I am not a streamer lol. Today I was brought over with extreme fatigue and I ended up taking the day off and I laid down for a few hours, and I'm going to be cancelling a lot of plans this evening so I can rest tonight. 

To keep myself not bed rotting, I'm taking advantage of I have something to blog about!! The GGxGalz set that recently came out! This has been on my radar for awhile so I was very excited!! I wanted to actually take it out for a wear before I blogged it and I was able to on Saturday! 

I also plan on attempting to wash this later this week with some other gal items, so I will make an update on how it washes.

I also want to before I go in, recc you also read Cindy's blog on this for another insight! We all have different thoughts and Cindy brought up some great points I kept in mind when wearing mine out for the first time!!!

For ordering, it was on Etsy which was pretty straightforward, and with the coupon code INSTAXGALZ I got 15% off so I only paid 63.75 USD. FYI this is not a code I make any money off it was just in the caption of the insta post I saw. I actually was hanging onto being awake and had to call my friend Dev to keep me awake to order it LOL, and then the page didn't work for a minute and I was like omg... did it sell out? But I was wrong and its all good. I was also surprised at the price but not in like a "wow this is expensive", I think this reasonably prices compared to MA*RS retail, which this piece is very similar to the good ol' days of Agejo MA*RS....

It's a miracle to find a ma*rs setup for that price lol. I will note I talked with @himemancer on instagram and learned international shipping is expensive!!! I live in the United States so shipping was free for me, but for any intl gals, this is very important to note.

OK, So I made a mistake when ordering this, which is I did not take updated measurements of myself and I ordered a size medium top and skirt, but this was nothing on the store, I just was like "I think I'm this" and turns out I was wrong! But, the only issue was the skirt, if you order the skirt too big, it slides down a bit awkwardly. I think if there's another set in the future, I'll definitely do a size small.  

My order also came with some cute stickers and a shopping bag I def will use to decorate my apartment with!!

The print itself is really nice, and I love a good black colorway. I know there was a pink version of the print, but I think that would need potentially some black lace where the pink lace is, too much pink can be a struggle to coordinate.

Once I put together a temporary solution for the skirt, I was able to wear it with no issue. The top itself was interesting as the way the cups are are much different from other cups. I think with this set as well as a lot of agejo pieces, you want to wear a cute pushup bra with it. I have a slip dress from ma*rs that has an awkward gab between the cups that I realized looks more flattering with a pushup bra. I mean... it even says it on the caption on insta it's meant for a bra to show lol. 

The other thing is the caption of the post also noted you can customize the set to your own style!! Which I loved the idea of. As a gyaru with a lot of setups... setups are easy mode, but it's fun to try to make it your own.  I went ahead and styled it with my heart necklace + belt combo, a jacket from mars, and some tights and a bow from ma*rs + some plain black heels. When a setup is mostly black, it is nice to keep black as the primary color and use the pinks as a pop of pink imo. I also was happy that the colorways of the pinks in this setup matched a lot of my ma*rs items!! I was actually going to wear my pearl necklace from ma*rs but I realized it was still at my parents lol...

Wearing it wasn't bad, but there was one thing I was warned of in Cindy's blog. The ruffle hem has a weird plastic wiring to help keep the shape, and though mine wasn't sticking out by an inch, I had some parts of it poke out and thanks to my purse, I kept accidentally shoving a little plastic bit into my thigh. YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But besides that, no complaints on my end.

Overall... I like it! I'm really happy that Gia made this setup, I love Agejo and this just screamed Agejo. I am definitely going to be wearing this a lot more in the future for sure, and I can't wait to figure out more ways to style it! I hope in the future the plastic tubing isn't an issue, I would definitely be interested to see this in a pink colorway in the future w/ black lace! I think this is a really nice alternative to buying scalped mars sets lol.

Once I wash it and dry it, I will probably make a smaller blog to note if I see any wear, but as many clothes do... they do wear and tear lol. 
 

3/7 - New Closet and Some Yap

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A new blog post. amazing. I don't have many pictures... my blogs are mostly text based lmaooooo but it's all good.

Today I wanted to blog about my closet in further detail!!! I've shared it on insta and the reddit, but I like using my blog for the huuuuge rambles. Below is a picture of how it's currently looking!!

 It is really nice!! My room has a walk in closet, but I am repurposing it as my office space since I work from home, so I am using the dresser the previous tenant left for non gal clothes, and then I bought myself this closet to assemble for gal clothes!! At my parents house, I had two closets and a rack I used, so it's nice to get all the pieces into one place. It also fits perfectly between my door to my office and the door I use to leave, and once I get my proper bed in there, there will still be space to walk!!! 😁

I was so thankful my friend Jordan carried the box of all the pieces up the stairs, I have no arm strength so this would have been a hard time for me to get up myself. I spent my afternoon working on building it and the instructions were pretty clear! I got it all built in about 40 minutes! 

And then it came to putting my clothes on it... this is probably about 90% of my items in the picture above. Some items require hangers (I ran out) or the item is still packed and I still have to unpack a lot of boxes. I did look at this and realize 1) people are going to tell me to keep my doors locked and 2) wow the shopping addiction got bad!!

I went back to my personal instagram archive to figure out how long i've been collecting gal pieces, I started in late 2021 / early 2022 ! I only got more into wearing everything I collected in late 2023, but really revved up in 2024. I also bought a lot in 2024. Which comes to me answering some questions I predict the blog readers might have? 1) How did you do it and 2) What do you even do to afford it all

1) During the second half of 2024 I moved back with my parents due to the building management at my last apartment sending out non-renewals and doing mass renovations which caused a lot of issues since I work from home. I helped pay towards living expenses but it was way cheaper than what I was paying in rent (1900ish including rent+utilities vs 500 a month).

Also... credit card debt which I am working really hard to pay off

2) I work in IT consulting! It's a bit confusing to explain the exact details of what I do, but basically just doing security assessments for clients and some compliance work as well. I also spend most of my spare money towards my closet (along with trinkets....). 

However... I realize looking at my closet I really need to slow down on my spending. My personal non gal goal for 2025 is to pay off all my credit card debt and return to using it as a "spend it and pay it off" type of deal. With moving back out, I'm back to paying rent and utilities (at the mercy of the monopoly that is RI energy...) so I have to just... stop spending so much. I think the insane scalped prices of ma*rs being timed with this part of my life is good! I also honestly have so many of my favorite pieces, I only have two dream dream dream isos from MA*RS s that will be insane to find, and two Robe de Fleurs dresses I need to like... goal set to let myself buy... but I need to stop buying things... to buy things. lol. I think just buying clothes to feel something hasn't been good for me, and I need to do something else... like eat Tajin straight from the bottle.

12/20 - The big holiday haul

 Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!! I hope you all are doing great! I am still sick, but today is a great day for me because I had a huuuge package come in! I think this has probably been my largest clothing haul this year, and will probably be one of the largest ones I'll do in awhile in terms of volume.

I was doing some searching for yumetenbo to dig for some cute items, and found something that started this haul. The theme for this haul was "it's missing in my closet/I wanted to not buy anything from MA*RS". My goal this January is to wear as much of the items I can to see if I want to get some similar items, or if this is just a one time piece (that I will continue to wear). Every piece in this haul was also under 30 dollars! I actually have two items coming next week that I originally ordered, but i'll post about those once later :)

So... let's start! I'll try to group these since there's some similarities

First! We have two Rady sets! I work from home, so a lot of the time I am just in my PJS or kigus, but I wanted to get some cute roomwear and Rady is a great place to get some. I really like the marbled design and love pink and purple. The more muted one is much for softer, while the vibrant one is more terrycloth, but you can't feel that on the inside. I definitely would consider getting some more of these, but for now I'm going to be wearing these a LOT!

Next, I picked up some cute pink sets! The jacket and shorts set are from Emiriawiz, and the jacket and skirt set are from Dazzy Store. I love pink, and sometimes I want to wear something a bit more business-like. I don't go into the office too much, but when I do I want to wear cute stuff! I also think both of these could work for just wearing something not super-duper agejo out when I am out with friends. 

Along the theme of business casual, and a color I love to wear but don't own a lot of: minty green/blueish clothes! I love pink, but I also love wearing these colors once in awhile. The minty set is from Delyle Noir, while the blue/white onepiece is from Sugar! I own a few pieces from Delyle Noir and I really like the quality of the clothing, so I was happy to add this to my cart. I can definitely see myself wearing this to like, a drag brunch. (I really want to go to another drag brunch lol). The Sugar onepiece was one that just kept showing up in my Mercari JP searches... haunting me... I finally gave in. There's supposed to be a matching belt but this listing didn't have it, but I have a few I could make it. I actually LOVE a peplum. I know, very 2010s of me... but something about it is just... so great.

Speaking of Peplums, I also got this SUUUUUUPER cute onepiece from the brand Selina. I was shocked at how white the skirt was as the listing photos made it look cream. I also have a very very... like almost very similar dress coming in next week but it's from an. I definitely will be working on coordinating this for karaoke, but also maybe if I go to any fancy schmancy places with my friends next year!!! My friend Sam were talking about Hibachi, which isn't the fanciest thing, but it's an excuse to wear this! I also noted this dress comes with padding, so no bra needed (always exciting!). Can you tell I really like some of the old school kyaba dresses? LOL. They're so cute...

And finally! The reason this haul started! SHOES! I think I finally wrapped up my shoe collection for now, and there's no more shoes I need. Let me show you the final two pairs!

The pink shoes are from Mon Lily! I have tried to find a nice pair of pink heels, but both attempts I have tried didn't work (didn't fit, open toe which I don't like). I was a little nervous these wouldn't fit, but a try on and I found out they did! These will be a bit difficult to coordinate with my pink outfits, so I may need to use these as a pop of color in the future. 

And probably my most favorite item of the shoes. These knee-high DearMyLove Boots! Deary? Dearly? DearMy? DearML? That old logo is so hard to read. I found these boots for 16.69!!!!!!!!!! and my god I was ready to gamble if these would disintegrate the moment I put them on. I was also nervous they wouldn't fit. Luckily the seller put the exact mesasurements for these (and the mon lily shoes! same seller!). The only downside is they are kind of stiff, so I need to work them in. My pal Elin told me they'd look really good with my MA*RS fur trim items and I was like :O you are soooo right!!! I am definitely going to be wearing these a lot. I have some basic black thigh-hights, but I think these will work super well with some winter code ideas I have.

And that's it!! I technically had one more big gift for myself coming, but with the US postal system, I actually don't think I'll ever get it. LOL. But I am excited to incorporate these into my wardrobe!!

Detailing the Closet: Part 2 - Some of my not MA*RS items!

 Happy Wednesday!! I am home sick with a cold so I wasn't able to go out today, and all my friends are sick too.😖 I'm hoping that I am able to recover and go out and see some friends this weekend! Two of my friends are getting back from a long trip in Europe and I want to go see them before xmas!! Since I can't go out today, I thought I'd talk about some more closet items. 

Today's theme is pieces that aren't from MA*RS! I know when it comes to Agejo, a lot of people think MA*RS, but I also have been trying to collect pieces from other brands! I actually have a good chunk of Datura and Delyle Noir pieces, but those I wear more for work. I also wanted to include my born this way setup, but it's actually in my laundry basket at the moment 😅

Also, some of these pieces are more hime/non agejo, but wanted to share them because I like them!!!

First, I have this mini onepiece from Glamorous Jane!! This was something I bought early on in my gal clothing buying days in 2022. I really liked the pink and I thought the stripes and the lace detailing at the top was so cute!! I typically wear this with my black fur trim jacket + matching skirt combo from MA*RS, as the pinks are pretty close in color. I recently wore it out back in November! The only downside is the lace in the back is really long, I might just trim it and use a lighter to prevent fraying though.

Next is this GORGEOUS dress from Jesus Diamante. I actually saw HelloLizzieBee in this dress and I was like "where do I get this. how do I get one." I was so lucky to find it on Mercari JP back in 2022, and I wore it to my company christmas party and I've also worn it for some of my more fancier get-togethers with friends. I love the light pink with the leopard print and roses. This is such a good piece. I still look at it and I'm so happy with it. I also really like the silhouette too!! I've considered getting this type of dress in other prints, but I don't do Hime looks a lot so I have held off against it.

This is a dress I've yet to wear out yet, but it's from One Spo! I was so shocked to find a dress with a print that felt very similar to MA*RS, but the color is def not as "pink pink". I remember showing my mom this dress and she said I should wear it to the New Years Eve party our neighbors invited us to! I think it's a great idea. This dress also has a built in petticoat, so it's plenty poofy. I only spent 40 bucks on this which I felt like was such a steal for something this cute!!!

Speaking of a steal, this dress from C.R.E.A.M was only like 30 bucks and I was SO shocked when I found it. I had seen this dress in another color, but I wanted to see if I could find it in pink and i could! This dress does take a second person to put on, and clear bra straps. I really want to wear this out for maybe my birthday... or potentially Katsucon this year? I really like the old school Kyaba mini dresses, and I always have to stop myself from buying them because... where am I going to wear them... and can I afford that much dry cleaning LOL.

    

The final piece from this haul, which is also my most recent get!! Is this babydoll dress from Vina of the Valley!!!!! I saw this on instagram a bit ago and I was like... wow... I want it. This was one of my 3 large xmas gifts to myself (the other being mercari jp haul, and the other being a secret for now as idk when its coming). I put it on and I felt like a cupcake. It's definitely different compared to what I typically wear. My sibling wants me to wear this to the con I'm going to with them next month, but my friend Dev also wants me to wear to Katsucon!!! Katsucon I might just wear mostly gal clothes and like. 1 cosplay so it's def an option!!! If I wasn't sick I lowkey wanted to wear it to my karaoke outing. Maybe once we start up again next year we will!!!

Detailing the Closet: Part 1 - My most cherished pieces

 Happy Thursday!! Today has been a very off dayfor me, but I want to keep trying to blog to give myself something to do in the evenings when I don't have plans. I was kind of hoping I was going to be able to blog about a purchase I made earlier this month, but that hasn't come in yet! (Nor... do I know if it ever will lmao 😅)

But, instead of doing my typical thursday night window shopping, I thought I'd take some time to appreciate some of the items I already have! I have a lot of items in my closet, so I figured I'd start with documenting them a bit at a time. 

Today's items all have one thing in common: they're my most cherished pieces! These are in no specific order, I have a deep love for all of them! 

First, we have this BEAUTIFUL MA*RS dress. I got this back in 2022, during my searching, I had saw someone list this on Fril/Rakuma for a... bit pricier than other MA*RS items at the time. But I was really drawn to it. The fur trim, the huuuuge bow, and the length of the dress all just called out to me. I know there is a pink version, but in second hand gyaru buying, I know that's pretty rare these days. I was so happy when I got it, and I think this dress honestly started waking up the idea that I want to dress like a glamourous gal more often.

This was a SHOCKING find. I had yet to see a listing for this piece before I found it. I actually found this for sale on bunjang, which was a website I was semi-familiar with as I had used it before. This is one of the dream dream dream items of mine.

I LOVE THE HEART PATTERNS... But the typically shared nightgown camisole just would not work for my chest (I have a nightgown camisole in another print and I still suffer with making it look right). I really like there is an option in a similar-esque print but in a different silhouette. I definitely am keeping my eyes out for other dresses with something similar in silhouette as I really like it.

 I actually sat on the idea of buying this Alba Rosa coat for a year. Actually, I had been keeping my eyes out on a separate listing since about January of 2023, slowly watching the price go down. Around Late Autumn 2023, the seller shot the price right back up, and then I had saw someone had bought it, and I was devastated. This colorway is my favorite of the Alba Rosa coats, and I had already owned a black and white version, and I really just loved the feeling of the coat. I ended up finding another seller who had listed theirs for a similar price, and I decided this was my 2023 christmas gift. It was overly expensive, extremely expensive. Like my week long trip to Ireland, including flight, hotel, food+drink, and activities, was about the same price I paid for this coat. I'm pretty sure my sibling's venue for their renn faire wedding cost less than this coat. But god, do I LOVE THIS DAMN COAT. I've gotten so many compliments from random folks while wearing it. I will probably never buy another Alba Rosa coat again because this one is my ride or die. 

This setup from MA*RS is super special to me because it was one of the first setups I bought for myself! I Really enjoy the heart jewel chain pattern, and I really want to work on styling this set more. I  actually saw a post on instagram of Himena in this setup!! And I need to go find it and save to try and recreate it/use it as inspiration. I also have a matching coat to wear when it gets cold in the winter. It's just such a good setup, and a good print!

And to wrap up this first part of the closet, is my dream dream dream dream dREAM DREAM setup. This actually consists of 3 pieces. I bought the jacket for pretty cheap early on, and then tried buying this setup back in 2022 and it fell through. I found someone who was selling the top and skirt, and I got them as a birthday gift to myself, and I love to wear these pieces out. If it's too cold, I'll just wear the top and jacket with some nice jeans!! This plaid pattern is supreme and I would love to collect more pieces in this print. I think there's at least 1-2 other tops and 1 other skirt out there. There's also another jacket, but it's not that different so I'm not too into finding it.
