10/25 - The Haul(tm) of October

We start this blog looking back at a goal I wrote on my first ever blog post here:

And we LAUGH AS THIS IS A HAUL POST LMAOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stop shopping. I cannot. I feel like I've done a lot more like... single item purchases vs hauls but it's still a lot. Like yesterday I was putting laundry away and realized I am out of hangers and need more storage for my gal pieces. In general I've been wearing a good chunk of my gal tracksuits and gal office pieces, but I always feel like I need something more. It does not help I don't doomscroll on tiktok, I doomscroll on mercari JP... LOL.

So this consists of a few hauls, so I'll talk through my thoughts on each purchase. This is not in the order I got them in the mail, but I believe these all came in from Late Sept to October.

Also for US readers who are interested in additional tariff/duty fee costs, I'll post my numbers.
For context; I use Japanrabbit as my JP proxy and DeliveredKorea as my korean proxy. I also ship with DHL for both so all of my customs fees tend to come with a 14 dollar fee (unless its one of the two orders from korea, I prepay customs so I don't believe it includes the 14 dollars but I could be wrong?)
I personally prefer DHL as they make me pay the customs before I get the item. I know a lot of people have been having issues with DHL but I think a chunk of the issue is the sender not filling in information correctly.

Ok first are some new prisila pieces! I'm always so in awe of how different gals style their prisilas, and I was recently inspired by Chrissi in her straighter hair looks, so I went ahead and pinked up some straight extensions and the straight halfwig. I also picked up a set of long bangs as I was doing the fx-05 over the fx-05 to hide my hair, but you can see the short bangs on the top half, so I was like... hm... let me experiment. The picture on the left is the three pieces + an fx-05 and I am happy to report this is a very fun hair look. I also feel like it'd be easier to slip in some color extensions too (also inspired by chrissi... have you seen her latest post that came out today with the sujimori-fied prisila with the pink extensions? it's sooo beautiful....)

Also I do see a lot of gals asking where to get prisila wigs, I know LiYe is harder to get these days on some items, but I just grab mine from the official prisila store. It's expensive asf... so I get new wigs once in a while. This time I got LiYe since I was feeling ina LiYe mood... but TMGX is also very fun mayhaps in March for my birthday...

Also for US gals, I believe I paid 33.02 in tariff/duty fee, the value of the items was 96.13. It really is that 17 dollar fee that got me LMAO.....

I feel like I've stared at the ganguro gal boots for so long I wanted some, and I wanted some that had a similar vibe to the demonia/knockoff brand but a bit different. I'll be honest, these were def an investment piece and I could've gotten boots for cheaper. This was probably in the list of "top insane purchases of 2025" (great blog post idea for december....)

I really enjoy the trend of just insane platforms in eastern asian fashion (I've seen this with japanese gals, chinese gals, korean gals....). We don't really have a lot of boots like this. The gogo boots are popular because of Sabrina carpenter (and I ofc have some), but these types of boots... not so much.

Those strings always bother me on my white boots. I was just doing my doomscroll of boots and found these from the brand darich! Now these I do believe I got ... semi scalped? Secondhand? Like I couldn't get the zozotown link to work but then I figured out they were sold out on zozotown... LOL. I think these retail for a bit cheaper what I paid (156 USD) but I was like... screw it. I like them.

Initially I was a little weirded out by the baggier look, but it actually grew on me and I really like them. Definitely to wear with more simplier outfits and alba coat type of code. I also enjoy the baggier feel because I can wear my fleece lined tights with them too... hehe.

These were 156 dollars in value, the tariff was 41.12. That 17 dollar fee kills me.

I finally gave in and got a babymetalclub release. I actually ordered from their korean store because my impatient ass couldn't wait 2 days and I've learned now: wait for the JP release... I was so worried it'd sell out but... I still don't think they have sold out. I just LOVE this hade of pink and I have this issue if it comes in pink AND blue and it's super cute I will get both.

First thoughts: LOVE the brooch is a separate piece. It makes washing it less scary. Somethings I've learned wearing the pink one so far:
1) tights with the seam in the middle will show as the fabric is not like... thin but its not thick enough ot hide if it that makes sense?
2) horizontal stripes are risky to wear
3) you really have to make sure your underwear isn't too tight. When I tried these on I felt a little awkward about my hipdips (which. are normal. and im happy with my weight and my body otherwise). and I realized the next time I put it on it wasn't even my hip dips, my underwear was just a bit too tight it was digging into my sides bit. so I keep that in mind with bodycon dresses now.

These are def super cute, and also interesting to style as they aren't like.. .a typical piece I have. I've been looking at a lot of the korean gals who purchases this collection for inspo. You can really just add simple hair with a little volume and some simple jewelry and shoes and it shorts really well.

This is where it gets weird.  I think I paid... probably 30 each for tarrif cost? It cost be 70 dollars per to ship because I am stupid. I assumed these were all in one package and didn't consolidate and it was to late to go back when I realized I had to pay shipping. If you ship with delivered korea... even if you order from the same store... always remember to consolidate. I want to say honestly I think this includes the DHL 17 dollar fee lol... it was so weird as I've never had this happen with Japan Rabbit. But again, different companies.

This is a "Brenna is kind of trying to expand her style in the opposite direction of the hime agejo and oh god brenna is getting into lolita this is very bad for my wallet.... oh no". But also "Brenna misses squirrel party print fr." Once in awhile I see the hime gyaru who were just wearing lolita dresses and I'm like... ohhh I want to do that... it would be so fun... but Lolita in general is very expensive... so I wasn't going to be investing in the big brands. I tried getting into lolita... maybe 10 years ago? It did not go anywhere. I convinced my dad to buy me the pink squirrel party OP from the bodyline website and then I did not realize... how much you really need to make a lolita coordinate to look cohesive... and eventually I gave the dress to an old friend as she was very into the kawaii jfashion and I figured she would enjoy it more than me. There's a lot of booths at anime cons now that sell chinese lolita JSK but also a lot of bodyline JSKs... a lot of squirrel party... except it's in black and red, which isn't really the colorway I was interested in. I also always ran away from the booth before I could buy it. But I've had squirrel party haunting me a lot, especially in the year 2025 where I'm doing things my younger self wanted.

I was doing a bodyline doomscroll (as if I was going to get any lolita dresses... I am going to the cheaper option first to save money... except why are people selling bodyline dresses for 100+ USD. what the hell?), and BAM... a blue squirrel party JSK. I noted it was a mercari JP store so I actually went to bunjang to find the listing, so this is the second thing I've ordered from Korea this month. If I could've found it in Japan I would've, but I don't recommend buying from the bunjang's mercari JP store  as i's like.. waaay more expensive, and you still have to pay duty to get it to the US... and i don't know if it's an official collab or a proxy store... it's weird.

I also was interested in blue hime after cindy's post, and there's been a lot of conversations I've had with many mutuals of the yearning to move away from wearing pink on default in agejo and hime. This made me think I could try. I also really love the color blue. A lot of people see me as a pink person but when I pull out the blue... it's magical for real.

This was values at about 50 usd, I think I paid 40 in tarrifs but the globalkorea shipping was one again 70 dollars ... LOL. Overpaid in general for this bodyline dress but it's ok. I think in general if I order from korea I need to do this in more of a haul fashion....

Would this be less gyaru and more lolita? would you all kill me if I styled this without a blouse if it's more hime gyaru? (the ultimate lolita fashion sin?) so many questions. Since this piece is starting to have me research lolita fashion again... I've been learning so much... So many of my mutuals have been so good.
Alright chat, we get to the big haul, though the value of all these items was cheaper than a pair of boots. I really enjoy finding cute pieces at a decent price.

First off: Emiria Wiz dress. I own a tweed set and a sweater+skirt set from them and was impressed in the quality, so I saw this dress for 20 dollars and nabbed it. It's super cute. I really liked Emiria wiz with the bright cherry pink color. The print on this is... interesting. The dress quality is interesting. Not bad. Just interesting. I plan on wearing this next time I'm required in the office. I actually might be able to wear this with the pink heels I got last year FINALLY... THOSE HEELS HAVE NEVER MATCHED ANYTHING IN MY CLOSET...

Next off, on the left a kyaba suit from dazzy store. I actually had a totally different suit in mind that was more of a circle skirt style, but this suit really stood out to me. If yall don't follow dannie and their looks you should. I'm always amazed with how they're able to style clothing ,and they recently did a kyaba suit + ma*rs top and I was like... yes... this is a good look. I also realize I've done this look myself but I only really have... two kyaba suits. One that is white and one that is pink and then also a purple one I picked up at the thrift (but thats more like... a work one vs a kyaba one), so I was like... this feels good to have.. This one also has the lace on the back which is cuuuuute.

Also on the right, simple growingrich setup. Really gonna be hell to style this in winter. I'm thinking I can get away with my white fleece tights, some darker colored boots (idk if my darich ones would work) and my trust white faux fur coat I thrifted. But if anything, tihs will EAT in the warmer weather (I always do end up buying clothes that work better in the spring and summer season.).This would also work well with my datura belt.... yes....

Also... I fee like I could even style these two pieces together.... things are happening in my head yall....

THREE LIP SERVICE DRESSES BECAUSE I CAN... This style of dress is so cute and I just... didn't have any. The two on the left were less than 10 bucks each, the one of the right was 24... one of the pricer items. But two come with the matching neck scarf which is sooo cute. I definitely am excited to wear these out. I think with the straight prisila wigs.. this will eat. I also think about Miki from girl's life with these dresses. I know she was wearing a ma*rs dress at one point... but I was excited for the lip service. I also dug for these... and had to double triple check the sellers were still active.

Also more blues and mints coming in... slowly adding more colors...

And finally. the bell of the ball. my holiday 2025 party dress. If you follow my instagram, you probably saw last year's christmas dress, which I was nervous to wear as I was unsure like... how crazy we can get. I did learn that some other members were wearing like... home-coming like dresses, and a lot of people were complimenting my look. Like I made the head of my company's corporate social media post... so I was like ok... dressing up in gal is fine, but now I have to up the ante.

I was somewhat interested in the HAG hime dress, but I was kind of like... eh. I also had my vina of the valley dress which is cute, but I also had this mercari listing in the back of my head for MONTHS. I've been looking at this listing unsure if I could even buy it as the seller had another listing of multiple items that included this dress and I really was not going to buy three dresses when I only bought one. I looked at it and said to myself "ok. if this doesn't work out, I still have my other dress I can wear." and I got it. for like 30 something dollars. it's SO cute. But I now must look for a matching cardigan and work on a good hairbow. I will probably be wearing the long boots for the holiday party to have people think less about the length of the dress (though it does go below my fingertips... that one shorts rule right?)

The dress is Jean Maclean. I've looked at their current listings and I am happy to say... I got a great discount. There's like two beads I'll have to handstitch back into place. Overall. very good. Very exciting. Also I'm bringing my roomie EJ and she was thinking of wearing a white dress so we're going to continue the oppostite aesthetics but in a fun new way.... heheheh

Overall this haul was valued at 126 dollars, tariff was 60.12. I think clothing in general is more expensive percentage wise. It's all something very confusing I'm trying to figure out. But like... for the deal on the Jean Maclean dress I didn't mind

OK, that's all for october! I will have one in december (as I preordered things... learning more on the lolita side... my wallet ... i'm so sorry) (I think I also need to hold off on the Japan trip until 2027.... but also there's a lot of non fashion reasons I fear that will happen).

OK! anyways. we chilling. we vibing. I have timed the completion of the saturday blogs with EJ's wrap up. See you all in the future when I have the urge to blog again....
